Approximately 4000 deaths per year in the UK are attributed to exposure to asbestos, more than any other work related illness, and this figure is still rising.

Hundreds of thousands of tonnes of asbestos were imported into the UK every year during the 1960's and 1970's and this was often mixed with other materials to create the desired asbestos containing materials (ACMs). This means that the actual amount of ACMs produced could be many times this figure.

Estimates predict that there are still millions of tonnes of ACMs in UK buildings and industrial sites today. We are UKAS accredited to both ISO 17020 for asbestos surveying and ISO 17025 for asbestos identification and four-stage re-occupation testing following licenced asbestos removal works.

However, Pattinson Scientific Services now offer a 'one-stop-shop' service to it's clients in relation to asbestos issues, as we currently hold a licence issued by the Health & Safety Executive to supervise work with asbestos (licence number 2070705170).

This means that we can not only help you with the location, identification and management of asbestos within your property, but more than that, can actually organise and supervise the removal of asbestos that is likely to be disturbed or is in a dangerous condition. As always, the service we provide is fully independent.
